The Rangers had a one-run lead with 6 outs to get, and couldn't get it done.
Credit goes to the Rays for gutting it out late in the game and tying, then taking the lead off of Darren Oliver and Neftali Feliz.
I wasn't a big fan of bringing in Feliz to pitch with 2 outs in the top of the 8th. Darren O'Day was in the game, had just struck out Upton, and a right handed batter, Jason Bartlett was due up. I'd take my chances with O'Day there. And that's not second guessing, I was saying that before Feliz walked Bartlett and then gave up the lead to Jaso on the hanging 0-2 slider.
The insurance runs in the ninth aren't as big, other than giving the Rays more offensive confidence.
I like Tommy Hunter in the Game Four match up against Wade Davis. In Tommy's first start of the season with the Rangers, he pitched a complete game, in a day game during the Summer in Arlington, and beat the Rays. I honestly don't know much about Davis, but Tommy's not called "Big Game" Hunter just because it sounds cute. He's come through in the past, and he can do it tomorrow to close out the series here at home.
Don't forget we're still UP 2-1, and though momentum might have moved over to the 3rd base dugout, the Rangers still have the overall advantage.
Keep your head up and tune in at noon to watch Game Four. Football can wait.
