Rangers Avoid Arbitration with Mike Napoli

The newest Ranger, catcher/first baseman Mike Napoli, is now signed for the 2011 season.  He and the team avoided salary arbitration by agreeing to a $5.8 million deal for this year.  He will be under team control through the end of 2012.

The only Texas player that is still arbitration eligible is Josh Hamilton.  There are still a few weeks remaining before the arbitration hearings begin, so it will be interesting if they agree to a deal by Spring Training, now that everybody else is out of the way.
